On Saturday June 10th Paul-Richard GM Center held its second annual Car Show, Cruise in as a benefit for Peru’s local VFW Post 309 and our VFW Honor guard.
The car show was a huge success with participants representing several counties as far away as Churubusco Indiana. With nearly 100 participants the show filled both sides of the new and used car display areas of Paul-Richard GM Center.
Seven car clubs were represented in the show with the largest being The Blacktop Cruisers out of Rochester with 12 members representing. With so many entrants there was a lot to see; cars from as early as a Ford Model A, all the way to a 2016 Specialty Buick Cascada plus trucks and motorcycles.
Every participant received a dash plaque, free lunch, lots of coupons to local businesses, plus a chance to win door prizes that were given away about every 15 minutes.
The show ran from 10-3 and culminated with the 3 O’clock Thunder in which all the cars, trucks and motorcycles fired up their machines and revved ‘em up to see who had the loudest exhaust. Both lots then emptied on to Main Street and headed to Broadway for an Old Time Broadway Cruise.
Paul-Richard is pleased to have raised $800.00 to donate to the Peru VFW post #309 and Honor Guard. These local organizations are always there to serve our veterans in life and death.
Tom Gaddy, Sales Manager at Paul-Richard GM Center said,” I heard great things from not only the participants, but from the hundreds of spectators who came to see the show”. He has already started planning for the show next year at the same time.
